They initially expressed a desire for a “magazine style cover” and wanted something exciting and fresh. The final result, though attractive, is not what the creative team had in mind after the initial meeting with the symphony director. We developed alternate creative concepts to attract more of a youthful crowd to the venue, but the project turned into a better safe than sorry scenario as many do.

The 08/09 Concert Season Marketing effort includes Poster, Brochure, Program Cover, Postcards, Newspaper Ads. The symphony photo shoot set behind the Santa Cruz Civic Auditorium Stage – Music Director, John Larry Granger rehearses his stand up bit as photographer Dina Scoppettone shoots. In reviewing all shots from the 2 day photo shoot, all involved but the Symphony felt compelled to focus on Shaine – moody, engaging, intriguing come to mind. But in the end, too young for the attending crowd as a whole and or the Symphony Director (in their eyes at least). Safe turns into cliche very quickly.
